durrrr Challenge by Full Tilt Poker

Filed under: poker, poker events, poker tournaments — June 24, 2009 @ 5:49 pm

FullTiltPoker.net has recently unveiled a new info site covering all the facts of the “Durrrr Challenge”, an intense online heads up poker tournament highlighting some of the greatest high stakes online poker players challenging the Heads Up Specialist Tom “durrrr” Dwan.

The brand new website presents poker players and fans the opportunity to follow this amazing durrrr challenge and get frequent updates. With this new “durrrr Challenge” site fans can track all the action and review each hand played during durrrr Challenge, and get tons of stats, including number of hands played, time of session, amount won, average won during each hand and much more.

About six months ago, the twenty-three year old internet poker star dealt out a heads-up challenge open to any poker player with the loot, time and talent to accept it. Any poker player entering the durrrr challenge has to bet $500,000 against Dwan’s $1.5 million. Dwan’s challenge states that a minimum 50,000 poker hands need to be played at the same time at four or more tables of no-limit Hold’em or pot-limit Omaha. At the end of the poker challenge, the player who has more cash will win the pool. Essentially if you enter the challenge and win a dollar after the 50,000 hands, then you will take home Tom’s $1.5 Million, but if he wins by a dollar then he will take your $500,000.

To date, a few poker players have consented to play the “durrrr challenge”, including seven-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Ivey and David Benyamine, but, only Patrick Antonius has accepted the durrrr challenge. Until now, both poker stars have engaged in a total of 20,647 hands out of 50,000, with Dwan ahead $726,546 total.

Stunning New Encore Sin City Hotel and Casino to Unveil Soon

Filed under: las vegas hotels, vegas, vegas travel — December 23, 2008 @ 12:09 am

encore
Las Vegas billionaire Steve Wynn undeniably has something to be thrilled about this holiday time. Investing about $2.3 billion, the dazzling casino-hotel named Encore will inaugurate this week.

This posh hotel is joined to the tremendously fashionable Wynn Vegas on the Sin City Strip. As lots of Las Vegas hotel proprietors are doing the best they can to come across a manner to keep their hotels from closing, Wynn is doing quite well with his $billion property investments.

This 2,000 room building is a masterpiece in itself. The centerpiece of this casino-hotel will be the nightclub, XS. Steve Wynn has noticed in the recent past that nightclubs are hotspots in LV, and not necessarily the hotels as they were years ago. He says that LV nightclubs typically make more riches and are a large hotspot for the young crowd.

He has also created a lush eatery joined to the XS nightclub. Named after the popular Colombian artist, Fernando Botero this restaurant in the form of a circle has a huge Botero figure as the main focus point. Not quite spectacular as the nightclub which it is connected to; the Botero steakhouse is designed to harmonize quite well with the showy Vegas nightclub.
The inspiration behind XS and Botero is a sort of St. Tropez feeling, where the bash carries on without a pause and most of the party happens close to a swimming pool or beach. Times are a changin’ in Vegas, where many folks would rather drinking and parties to gambling at the present time.

knievel
After almost a full year of inactivity, the Mirage Hotel’s legendary volcano will be reborn bigger and more stunning than in the past. The popular Las Vegas, Nevada hotel is doing their best to attract as many visitors as feasible to check out their reconstruction.

This New Year’s Eve, the daredevil Robbie Knievel will try a motorcycle leap over the Mirage Megaresort’s manmade volcano. This stunt will celebrate the conclusion of a 3-year restoration of the Vegas casino. During this period, the LV hotel and casino has put in over $110 million upgrading their rooms and suites.

This New Year’s Eve jump is said to be Knievel’s last in the U.S.. The feat will carry on for 5 mins. and have explosives and a modern music soundtrack. The music for the act has been composed by former Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart. Robbie Knievel is the son of the late Evil Knievel-the first and most famous daredevils.

The Vegas Mirage was opened in 1989 by Las Vegas industrialist Steve Wynn and was regarded as Las Vegas, Nevada’s 1st megaresort. This reconstruction is one of a huge number on the Las Vegas Strip recently. This megaresort desires that this feat will invite a big number of sightseers to the Las Vegas, Nevada casino-hotel. The plan behind the improvement is to outshine other well-known Las Vegas destinations like the Bellagio resort.

de la hoya vs pacquiao
The Las Vegas, Nevada event many boxing fanatics have been dying to see is just around the corner. Oscar De La Hoya will fight one of the world’s present top fighters, Pacquiao. This match is taking place on the 6th of December in the MGM in Sin City.

Undoubtedly there has been much talk in LV about this match. Oscar De La Hoya has cut his weight down to 147 lbs. to compete as a welterweight, and some agree that Oscar “Golden Boy” De La Hoya could not be as stout since the weight reduction. ”Pac-Man” Pacquiao has already boxed once as a lightweight and wishes to fight in the welterweight category. ”Pac-Man” Pacquiao is also the current lightweight title-holder , and is regarded by many authorities to be one of the best fighters in the world.

This is Oscar’s first visit back to Sin City for a boxing match since he took on Floyd Mayweather Jr. this past year. This fight will definitely be a sold out event for the MGM Grand Sin City. Sightseers to Las Vegas, Nevada have decreased recent times, but Las Vegas events like this boxing match really have a way of attracting people to Las Vegas.

This match will surely be one to remember as it consists of the two top fighters of our time in a twelve round welterweight contest. Oscar versus ”Pac-Man” Pacquiao tickets are selling quickly. If you see only one Sin City event all year, this is without question the LV Event to watch.

Consumer Electronics Show Las Vegas, Nevada Fans Astonished by Unbelievable Hotel Room Rates

ces vegas
Visitors of next January’s Consumer Electronics Show Sin City could be in for a pleasant shock. Regularly, near this time it is nearly impossible to locate a vacant Las Vegas resort hotel anywhere inside LV, but the next C.E.S. LV is turning out to be an exception to the rule. Some of the most visited hotels on the Las Vegas, Nevada Strip have surprisingly slashed their room rates at a maximum of twenty percent.

Virtually 100,000 visitors invade LV each and every year to take a look at the cutting-edge electronics displayed by the C.E.A.. The Las Vegas, Nevada event is presented from January 8-11 with the majority of the events taking place in the Venetian Resort and Hotel and the Sands Vegas. This turns out to be a time when finding a good hotel room price becomes practically a hopeless job.

The Consumer Electronics Association revealed some time back that many of the Las Vegas, Nevada Strip hotel and casinos have slashed their hotel room rates, a large part of them by a pretty big amount. If you have already made your reservation, you probably want to see if there are any better deals on Vegas rooms. For example: the Tropicana hotel and casino has reduced their nightly room rate by about 17%. Most of the Sin City hotels that operate close to the C.E.S., have started offering special Consumer Electronics Show rates to the tourists of the Las Vegas, Nevada event.

Several analysts state that this reduction in Sin City resort hotel room rates is due to the fact that most of the electronics corporations have had to lower the quantity of the workforce they are sending to the show. This pushes the Sin City resort hotels to decrease their room rates to attract more visitors to their hotel resorts during this event. Other experts suggest that it is caused by the recent absence of sightseers to Las Vegas, Nevada in contrast to other years.

The two worlds of Vegas

las vegas
Vegas contains many paradoxes lately. For the run of the mill Vegas traveler, their money is able to last a great deal longer than in previous months. On the other hand for the Sin City local, these days are somewhat more complex.

The Las Vegas travelers will be quite pleased with the bargain costs of Sin City hotel rooms, even on the Vegas Strip. Without bringing up the large amount of budget Vegas show tickets, Las Vegas coupons, and even Vegas food credits. Right now is surely a great moment to stay in Las Vegas for the budget –minded vacationer. Certainly the economic circumstance does disturb some parts of Vegas for the vacationers. For example, various shows are obligated to close down or hunt for other theaters. “Stomp Out Loud” is the most evident model of this transformation, they are exiting out of their Planet Hollywood resort setting in January, 2009.

To show an example of how the U.S.’s financial crisis is negatively affecting the Sin City natives, you can get a picture from the very same Las Vegas, Nevada casinos, Las Vegas, Nevada hotels, and Vegas eateries that grant these bargain prices and Las Vegas coupons. For the past months Vegas has observed the amount of vacationers go down, this in turn negatively affects the normal waiter, bellboy, or casino attendant. Most of the major Vegas Strip casino hotels have been required to lay off people due to this condition.

If you look at the bright side of this condition; the prospect is very encouraging for Las Vegas tourists. You are definitely able to come across some amazing Las Vegas, Nevada coupons, and with the cost of fuel plunging these are great months to sightsee in Vegas.

“BeLIEve” opens in the Luxor Hotel and Casino in Sin City

criss angel
People might assume that a thrilling mixture of Criss Angel with Cirque du Soleil could be a marriage made in heaven, or in Criss Angel’s case, hell.

If you are any one of the numerous showgoers who have attended this innovative Las Vegas, Nevada show, called Criss Angel BeLIEve at the Luxor Hotel Casino, then you might possibly have a unique viewpoint about this latest event. This newest Sin City event is in reality Cirque du Soleil’s sixth show to present on the LV Strip.

It opens relatively comparable to Criss’ regular illusion productions, with a trace of “Cirque”. Then all of a sudden an unsuccessful illusion act takes Criss into a Wizard of Oz-like dreamworld. You will see dreamlike rabbits running on all sides of the theater, alongside the illusionist’s regular tricks and illusions united with Cirque’s theatrical fascination. The performance climaxes with the magician in effect ripping himself in half, perhaps the highlight of this presentation.

One of the difficulties, that the majority of fanatics have come across with the show, is the fact that the magician has many spoken roles in the event. Criss’ drama talents aren’t in reality his strong suit, and this is not routine in any of Cirque’s other fashionable Sin City presentations.

There is hope, though, in this combination of Angel with Cirque du Soleil. You will see some fantastic illusions highlighted in the presentation, and united with Cirque du Soleil’s genius, the production does have its brilliant and magnificent moments. The sales of tickets do not lie, as this presentation is looking to be one of most popular performances that Cirque du Soleil has had in Vegas.

”Cirque” which was founded in Montreal, Canada includes this latest proposal to their program of Las Vegas presentations. Cirque du Soleil’s other presentations are: “O” in the Bellagio Hotel Casino Las Vegas, Zumanity in the Zumanity Theater at the New York-New York casino hotel, LOVE in The Mirage Hotel and Casino, Ka at the Ka Theater inside the MGM Grand Hotel Casino, and Mystere at the Treasure Island Casino.

A few tips to find the greatest Las Vegas room and flight offers

vegas deals
Even if you are not the biggest fan of Sin City casinos, neon lights, and all night parties, Las Vegas, Nevada can be a great weekend break away from your hectic schedule if you make reservations in advance and do your homework. One thing to remember is to have a clear picture of what you want to do, how long you want to stay, and where you will be spending the night. If you have a clear picture of these questions, then your vacation to Las Vegas will undoubtedly be one to remember always.

As far as flights are concerned, this may take up most of your time to find the best price. Many airlines have been cutting down their flights recently, due in part to the financial and fuel condition in the country. It may be a good idea to compare travel packages from some different companies; a good example of these kinds of packages might be hotel + flight + car rental for a set price. Depending on the time of year, you may see that it is more economical to buy these separately. The difference in cost you might find could be major.

One suggestion that you may find useful is to register for e-mail alerts from the hotels and airlines you are interested in. They will forward you an e-mail when their best deals are available around two months in advance. It is a good idea to make sure that if you have already reserved a Sin City hotel room, keep checking the rates that they are offering up till the day of your trip. The prices may change so if you see a price cheaper than the one you reserved, go ahead and talk to the hotel about changing the cost of your room.

Try to keep in mind that there are fewer visitors to Vegas nowadays, Vegas hotels are looking for you. Today is the day to book that flight and hotel room.
