Every year since 1984 the adult entertainment world has been taking a day off from the hot and sticky Hollywood, Ca. film sets and flocking to Las Vegas, Nevada, to be honored one night a year for the work that they do. The Vegas Adult Awards were started to pay tribute to the actors, actresses, and the folks behind the cameras in the porn industry. Their goal is to honor the industry’s vow of erotic artistry and free spirit. The Las Vegas Adult Show is endorsed and sponsored by Adult Video News which was started in Chatsworth, California.

The 2008 Vegas Adult Awards was a high point for the awards show, since they were observing their 25th year of the awards. The insanely popular Vivid Entertainment Group went home with the most awards last year, where they were honored with numerous awards in a variety of different categories including Best Film and Best Director.

One would think that the only people you would spot at this awards show are busty blondes and toned guys, you would have guessed wrong. You are very likely to find porn stars socializing with some very famous Hollywood mainstream personalities at the AVN Vegas ceremony. A few unlikely individuals who have been spotted or even presented awards in past events include Dustin Diamond, Christina Aguilera, Criss Angel, Carrot Top, Sean Penn, Eddie Van Halen and Dave Navarro among others. Even rap stars are involved in the adult entertainment world these days; some people say that Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent have been investing in porn movies for some time now.

The 2009 Las Vegas Adult Show will have over 100 categories with everything from best sex scene to best packaging and every other category linked to erotic films you can think of. The awards offered to the winners are called “Woody’s” and the recipients of a Woody are chosen by industry equals and other experts and critics of the adult movie industry. The world-famous Bellagio Hotel has just unveiled the Yellowtail Sushi Restaurant and Bar and invited some fashionable stars to taste their cuisine. This is the Light Group’s fifth restaurant and their first since they partnered with the Dubai-based Zabeel Investments in February.

The restaurant attracted icons including Leonardo DiCaprio, Eva Longoria, Charlie Sheen and his wife, Paris and Nicky Hilton, Wilmer Valderrama Michelle Rodriguez, Ryan Cabrera, Marlon Wayans, Shar Jackson, Rick Solomon, Brandon Davis, Playboy Playmate Destiny Davis, and Miss Nevada 2008 Veronica Grabwoski.

The icons were invited to taste the delicacies of Chef Akira Back, a former pro-snowboarder turned “Iron Chef America” competitor. The stars indulged on such specialties as Tai snapper, Kobe beef tataki , king crab tempura, rock shrimp, big-eye tuna pizza, the spicy tuna strawberry roll, and of course every type of sushi imaginable.
Paris dined on the beef tataki, ordering seconds and even thirds. Eva congratulated Chef Back while drinking non-alcoholic beverages and abstaining from the sushi. Wilmer enjoyed the delicacies of the famed chef and ordered table shots for his entourage.

The icons finished the night by mingling on the hotel’s balcony that overlooks the iconic lake, while the Bellagio’s fountain show was enjoyed by all. A private balcony offers outdoor veranda seating and a panoramic landscape of Lake Bellagio and its fountain and light show. But the greatest visual treat is the 25-by-13- foot bronze installation at the entrance resembling the dorsal side of a Japanese amberjack.
