Even if you are not the biggest fan of Sin City casinos, neon lights, and all night parties, Las Vegas, Nevada can be a great weekend break away from your hectic schedule if you make reservations in advance and do your homework. One thing to remember is to have a clear picture of what you want to do, how long you want to stay, and where you will be spending the night. If you have a clear picture of these questions, then your vacation to Las Vegas will undoubtedly be one to remember always.

As far as flights are concerned, this may take up most of your time to find the best price. Many airlines have been cutting down their flights recently, due in part to the financial and fuel condition in the country. It may be a good idea to compare travel packages from some different companies; a good example of these kinds of packages might be hotel + flight + car rental for a set price. Depending on the time of year, you may see that it is more economical to buy these separately. The difference in cost you might find could be major.

One suggestion that you may find useful is to register for e-mail alerts from the hotels and airlines you are interested in. They will forward you an e-mail when their best deals are available around two months in advance. It is a good idea to make sure that if you have already reserved a Sin City hotel room, keep checking the rates that they are offering up till the day of your trip. The prices may change so if you see a price cheaper than the one you reserved, go ahead and talk to the hotel about changing the cost of your room.

Try to keep in mind that there are fewer visitors to Vegas nowadays, Vegas hotels are looking for you. Today is the day to book that flight and hotel room.

With the unbelievable success of the Tao nightclub at the Venetian Resort Hotel, the creators of this night-time hotspot are investing in a brand new Roman/Mediterranean type restaurant called Lavo which can be found in the Palazzo resort. This ground-breaking idea is based on the Roman bathhouses of years past. A lot of effort has gone into the historical accuracy of this restaurant and into the tiny details as well.

This Vegas restaurant can fit 300 people and includes a menu chock full of Mediterranean cuisine. Their menu is planned to promote the sharing of appetizers and small plates, as opposed to large one-person meals. The restaurant part also has an outdoor courtyard which can hold 100 guests and overlooks the notorious Las Vegas Strip.

The nightclub section includes a state of the art audio and video set-up while live DJs are always availableto keep the crowd entertained. The nightclub stays open six nights a week opening its doors at 10:00 pm and closing approximately at 5 am. What the club doesn’t have is a VIP section, to this the owners say is to have a more friendly ambiance.

Lavo has lots of eye candy for the visitors (especially the male guests). There is a model constantly bathing herself in the restaurant, female dancers, and other models acting out different historical scenarios. On the balcony, you will find a reserve of hookahs with a “hookah master” helping you make the best choice.

This nightclub/restaurant is led by the same team that launched Tao Las Vegas in the Venetian Casino in 2005. Ever since the launch of this nightclub it has been one of the hottest clubs in town, frequented mostly by celebs. Along with the Tao Asian Bistro and Tao Beach, these have been the highest earning destinations in the U.S. since 2006.

This should be a great addition for The Palazzo Vegas. This space features 3000 top of the line suites, posh shopping stores, and Las Vegas’ best restaurants and nightlife. Other spaces in the Palazzo such as rapper Jay-Z´s 40/40 Club, Canyon Ranch SpaClub, a massive Barneys New York even a Lamborghini sales floor can be visited in The Palazzo Las Vegas.

In spite of the fact that all the large Sin City casinos are doing their best to draw more Las Vegas visitors this year with rebates and coupons, their slot machine business is on the decline. And seeing that Vegas slot machine business creates about two thirds of Las Vegas, Nevada’s earnings, it’s not such great news for the Sin City hotel casinos.

According to the Gaming Control Board, Vegas gamblers wagered $1.1 billion less in slot machines compared to last year. Slot machines on The Strip are down half a billion dollars. This corresponds to a drop of 12% in comparison to 2007. With drivers shelling out more than $4 per gallon for gas, bettors are really having to tighten their belts nowadays. Although with the price of fuel dropping, these numbers could change in the future.

Las Vegas casinos aren’t really bothered about this drop in slot machine earnings, the latest figures show that table game play is actually increasing. On The Strip the volume for Las Vegas table games is up 5 percent, with baccarat play up 15 percent and blackjack on the rise at 7 percent. This might seem like good news but, the truth is that Las Vegas casinos won 21 percent less in July as a result of some lucky Las Vegas gamblers as well as bettors winning a larger percentage than customary.

The infamous saying, “The house always wins”, might have been the norm in the past. But as these reports have shown us, Sin City casinos are are trying harder to make a profit than in the past. This may be the best time for Sin City gamblers to start using their Sin City vouchers, taking advantage of discounts, and using their frequent flyer miles. With the Las Vegas, Nevada hotel casinos having a run of bad luck, this might be the most convenient occasion for you to take a trip to Las Vegas.
